LOST IN SPACE ENTERS THE CHARTS AT #3

The two new Avantasia EP's "Lost In Space part 1 & 2" have just entered the official Swedish charts at #3 and #4. In Germany it went in at #9 of the official Mediacontrol single-charts. It is the highest single chart entry in the history of Nuclear Blast Records.

Tobias says about the amazing chart entry""It doesn't really matter if it's a Top10 hit or not, most important is that I am happy with it and most fans seem to enjoy the material too. It seems like there are a lot of people out there who appreciate honest hand made music and I am very thankful for that."

AVANTASIA - LOST IN SPACE OUT NOVEMBER 16TH
On November 16th the two "Lost In Space" EPs of Tobias Sammet's Avantasia will be released, each for the price of a CD single.
Eric has not only been the drummer but he's also been singing the lead vocals for Lucifer's Friend's classic Rock anthem "Ride The Sky" on "Lost In Space part 1"

For the video clip of "Lost In Space" follow this link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o26SlmROH5Q

Tobias Sammet: "It is a real pleasure to work with Eric! He is not only a great drummer, but also a great guy and - most important: He is not taller than me. It's the first time I am playing with someone who is not taller than me. Okay, probably he thinks the same. Seriously, I am really blessed to have his great drumming on my album and his voice as well, I don't know if people are aware of the fact that he is a killer singer too. Eric, my friend, thanx for being on my album!!!"

WHISKEY FALLS TO RELEASE FULLY BRAND-PARTNERED ALBUM, Sept. 25
Indie Band's Self-Titled Record Backed by Aamco, LiUNA, ATA, Midas

(Whiskey Falls is Damon Johnson, Seven Williams, Buck Johnson, and Wally Brandt)

"Original" isn't the word to describe the serendipitous formation, escalating popularity, and chart-climbing rise of new independent country act WHISKEY FALLS; "groundbreaking" and "pioneering" are much more appropriate terms! Country music's first fully brand-partnered band has accomplished a number of milestones in just one short year, the least of which is independently writing, recording, and producing their self-titled Midas Records debut album, "Whiskey Falls," due out September 25th.

With their debut single "Last Train Running" firmly entrenched in the Country Top 35, rising stars WHISKEY FALLS are making new fans left and right while single-handedly changing the face of the music industry. One look at the back of their album shows how; next to Midas Records' logo (with which they have a multimedia distribution partnership) one can also find the emblems of their revolutionary sponsorship partners. These include:
- AAMCO Transmission - WF is featured in their national ad campaign!
- 800,000-member LiUNA (Laborers International Union of N America)!
- American Tailgaters Association (ATA)!

Considering the fact that their album is still forthcoming, WHISKEY FALLS has already reached a level of success that no new indie band has ever realized:
- Unique placement for several songs with MLB, AAMCO's national commercials, and TV shows "Saving Grace" and "Days of Our Lives!"
- Ongoing national tour, having performed with acts like LeAnn Rimes, Vince Gill, and the Goo Goo Dolls, at venues like the Grand Ole Opry!
- Headlining the ATA's "Fall 2007 Tailgating Tour" at NFL and NCAA football games across the country!
- One of Napster's Top 20 most streamed artists, with close to 18,000 streams of their debut single "Last Train Running" the week of 8/25 alone!
- A 200-station in-studio radio barnstorming tour across the US!
- "Last Train Running" video is in CMT's "12 Pack Countdown" Top 10!
- Cross-promotions with Dale Earnhardt, Jr, a personal fan!

WHISKEY FALLS is a band for this modern era and a brand to be coveted: revolutionary in approach; first-rate in ability; driven by musical passion; and inspired by their growing legion of fans. Armed with media-savvy, charisma, and arresting harmonies, they are currently available for interview and booking.

QUESTION: Hi Eric, I have a cd called KISS Indiscreet, a club performance KISS did in Brooklyn just after you joined the band. On that show you used extreme double bass drumming ( which was awesome ). But as I heard you later in the band , especially on MTV Unplugged you had reverted back to the original patterns of the songs, was it hard to learn these patterns, and as a superb double-bass drummer, was it hard to do single kick-drumming? Greetings. --- Phil Anderson, South-Africa

ANSWER (ERIC): Phil, first of all thank you for the email and props... As for double kick or single kick drum usage? It really depends on the band or songs. I am just as comfortable either way and have no problem playing more simplified if needed or asked. It really is about playing for the songs first and if there is more room to stretch then that is kool too! The KISS songs are not that complicated drum wise but rather require the feel and attitude to be more important in my opinion.

QUESTION: Hi Eric, You rock!! My question is which KISS song do you like playing the most and why? --- Figueroa, Guaynabo, San Jaun

ANSWER (ERIC): Thanx Figueroa !! I always have liked playing a lot of KISS songs like PARASITE, Got to Choose, Cold Gin or just about anything from the first three records. But, I would have to say "Do You Love Me" is my fav KISS Klassic because it represents what KISS is all about. Great Rock n Roll song !

QUESTION: Eric, I'm a big fan of yours and your overall playing style. My question is this - What do you get out of playing with KISS and that style of rock music versus what you have done in the past? Respectfully --- Danny Mullins, Lawton, OK

ANSWER (ERIC): Thanx Danny. I always loved that KISS was a visual band that had really kool songs and was basically a "Hard Rock" band in that classic sense. Rock and Roll to be more exact ! You can't really have one without the other. Since I was also a fan growing up it makes it even more kool to get to play with a band that influenced me as well.

QUESTION: Dear Eric, Sorry I missed you at the expo in Cleveland. I was not able to travel home to see you there due to some family commitments. I was wondering if you were and are a big Cleveland sports fan or if you have other teams you prefer? I was born in Cleveland, but live in Wisconsin now. Great seeing you this summer at RockFest!!! Thanks for all you do. --- Bill Bokenyi, St. Croix Falls, WI

ANSWER (ERIC): Hey Bill, sorry you couldn't make the Cleveland Expo.... It was a good turnout and was great to be home too! As for sports teams and Cleveland? Of course I will always be a BROWNS, INDIANS and CAVS fan BUT, I really love the LAKERS since I was a kid even before I moved to L.A. I also love Ohio State Football/Basketball Go Buckeyes !

QUESTION: HI! I'm a drummer and I love your stuff, you and Eric Carr you are my biggest influence. My question is what is your favorite Carr stuff? And which song you wish to play with KISS but you never played? --- Karl Disowned, Europe

ANSWER (ERIC): Hi Karl, I also liked Eric Carr as a drummer and think Creatures is a great record partly because of his drumming for sure ! As for a song(S) I would like to play but never did ? The Oath, Strange Ways, Flaming Youth.

QUESTION: Hi Eric, My question is very simple…What are your favorite KISS albums and Why? --- James Braddock, Harts town, PA

ANSWER (ERIC): My favorite KISS record is either Dressed to Kill or Hotter Than Hell. I love a lot of the other records as well but, those two really made me a fan in the first place and I love the simplicity of the sound recordings as well. Very raw ~!

My name is Chad Miller. I was born on May 5, 1990 in San Bernardino California. I am 17 years old. I have one older brother, (David) three sister's (Amy, Michele and Barbi), and one nephew ( Seth). I live with my father, (Brian) and my mother ( Sherrie), and two of my sisters. I am the youngest of the family.

I was first introduced to KISS at an early age around seven years old. Instantly they became my favorite band. For years I dressed up as Gene Simmons for Halloween and my friends would dress up as the rest of the band. It was a lot of fun and people said we LOOKED GOOD.

I wanted to play the guitar and did for a while, but the drums interested me also. I began putting a drum set together and practicing. I now have a band that I am the drummer in.

In January 2007 I was diagnosed with osteosarcoma (bone cancer). I had too immediately start Chemo, my life had come to a stop. I have spent a lot of time at the hospital from M.R.Is to I.V.s to unwanted hospital food. It has been very scary. I am right now still fighting for my life. I struggle everyday on what is going to happen to me and will I be a survivor of this monster, (I will). I have the fight in me, and family and good friends to help in my weak times.

I recently had a wish granted from Make a Wish Foundation. I had a shopping spree at my favorite place ( Guitar Center). I was able to add some cool stuff to my drum set. I was shocked when I found out that I was meeting Eric Singer, WOW that was really a shocker. He was very nice and wanted to make my day special, it was like having two wishes come true. He gave me autographed drum sticks, CDs, pictures of the band and a signed drum head. He made my day so special I will never forget it, THANK YOU ERIC. I also had a party at my house more than 60 people were there family and lots of friends. My band played for the first time in front of an audience.

When I found out I was going to be on the KISS website I just kept thinking that my wish was still going. My ultimate dream would be to meet the rest of KISS. So I will continue to dream.

Thank You,

Chad

"Last night I was asked to be a judge for the Rock & Roll Fantasy Camp held in Los Angeles at the House of Blues.
This was my first time attending such an event. Bruce Kulick (KISS, Grand Funk) & Teddy Zig Zag (G-n-R, Alice Cooper) were camp counselers and have told me about how much fun these camps were and how much work they were as well...
This Year the special guests along with Bruce & Teddy were Paul Stanley (No introduction needed), Clem Burke(Blondie),Simon Kirk(Free, Bad Company),Spike Edney (Brian May Band QUEEN),Kelly Keagy (Night Ranger), Jane Weidlin (The Go Go's), Sandy Genero (Pat Travers, The Monkess) Mark Slaughter (Slaughter) and I am sure others I can't think of now.... :-)
Anyways, the 13 bands of campers each played 2 songs which one of them was a KISS song sang or accompanied by "The Voice" of KISS Paul Stanley.
All the campers had such a good time by the look on their faces. And special props to Paul for being a trooper and singing full tilt all night long ! I am sure the campers must have been beside themselves to share the stage with Paul and all the talented counselers. All in all it was a fun night and cool to see some familiar faces (Carmine Appice) and get to watch so many peoples dreams become a reality."

This past weekend I made it back to my hometown of Cleveland for some family, friends, basketball & KISS !
I started the weekend off by watching the CAVS destroy the Miami HEAT !
Saturday I arrived at the Holiday Inn for the planned KISS Expo. There has not been an expo in Cleveland in a few years but, the fans turned out strong and flowed in & out thruout the day. Great turnout & I want to thank Keith Leroux & Steve Stierwalt Jr. for putting on another great event. These guys are top notch & really know how to deliver the best events for KISS fans period.
I also want to thank ALL the fans who made it out in freezing cold weather from near & far (there were fans from Canada,West Virginia, Michigan etc...) YOU really made me feel special & gave me energy to sign from 12-6pm.
You rocked my world needless to say !
I then went to dinner with family & friends and had a great evening visiting some old friends from my Euclid school days. Nice to see Colleen,Maryann & Carol !! You girls made me laugh with such kool memories.
We were crazy kids huh ?
On Sunday I went to another great CAVS game against my beloved LAKERS...
I sat right courtside under the basket and heard every word the players said during the game. Super kool experience & I gotta thank Tommy & Frank Amato for hooking me up with the seats. These guys are old band mates from my Cleveland days "Beau Coup"
I will post some pics from the Expo as I recieve them. Thanx again to everyone who made the weekend a success !!

From Kissonline:
Eric Singer first saw KISS open for the New York Dolls at the Allen Theatre in 1974. Seventeen years later, he was the drummer in the band. He's had several stints with KISS, including a tour last year, but is also the regular drummer for Alice Cooper. He has his own band, ESP, and has played with Lita Ford, Brian May, Black Sabbath, Badlands and others. He'll be in town this weekend to visit family, attend the Cavs-Lakers game Sunday and appear at a KISS Expo from 1 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the Holiday Inn Cleveland Airport, 4181 West 150th St.

Q: Tell us about your Cleveland roots.

A: I graduated from Euclid High School in 1976 and moved out to California in 1983 or 1984. Cleveland was such a good music scene and produced a lot of good players, but at some point you've got to go where things are happening. All the Cleveland musicians I know went to New York or L.A.; L.A. has warmer weather so I headed out there.

Q: KISS is notorious for calling it quits, then reuniting for yet another farewell tour. Any plans for this year?

A: Not that I'm aware of. We played some shows last year in Japan and a few on the West Coast. I have begun work on a new album for Alice Cooper and I think we'll tour in support of that later this year.

Q: To what do you attribute the longevity of KISS?

A: Whether we like it or not, KISS is a part of Americana. They're like Coca-Cola or Chevrolet.

Q: How do you feel about KISS tribute bands, like Mr. Speed, which will be playing at tomorrow's expo?

A: If anything is done well, then it's cool.

Q: What's Alice Cooper like in person?

A: Just the nicest guy in the world. He has an incredible amount of energy for a guy his age. He works so hard he puts me to shame. When he comes onstage, he'll whack me with his riding crop and ask me how I'm doing.

Q: Do you enjoy expos like the one you'll be attending tomorrow?

A: I do. A lot of times on tour you don't get the chance to meet many of the fans. You're always on the move. This is nice because you get a chance to answer questions and mingle with the people.

"Well another NAMM Convention has come & gone yet again...
It was great to see familiar faces and old friends again. It seemed like it was only a few months ago since the previous NAMM. What happens to time ? I guess it is like a drummer always speeding up...
Anyways, I saw alot of kool new drums & stuff over at PEARL & ZILDJIAN and stopped by Universal Percussion to say hey to the ATTACK drumhead guys too.
In case people wondered what happened dept: I was scheduled to jam at the Dimebag Darrell Tribute show on saturday at The Hilton with Lemmy & Keri Kelly but was unable to play drums for awhile due to minor surgery a few weeks ago. I am on the road to a speedy recovery and should be back hitting things very soon !
I wanna thank everyone who took the time to stop by the Pearl,Zildjian,Sure or Musicstar booths I appeared at. It was great to see fans from all over the world and you all treat me so nice & make me feel special. For this I thank you ! "

KISS Drummer ERIC SINGER Lays Down Tracks For New AVANTASIA Album - Jan. 5, 2007

EDGUY frontman Tobias Sammet has tapped KISS/ALICE COOPER drummer Eric Singer to play on the upcoming third installment of his solo project AVANTASIA.

"We've recorded the drums in Hamburg at Vox Klangstudio, where we recorded the drums of EDGUY's 'Hellfire Club' too," says Sammet. "Great room, great equipment!

"Eric is a killer drummer and a cool guy to work with. It is really exciting to hear his interpretation of European-style metal. It definitely adds something fresh and unique to the sound, mainly because he's got a different approach to that kind of music. And although he doesn't do it with ALICE COOPER, KISS and SPONGEBOB SQUAREPANTS' solo band: There IS fast double-bass shit on AVANTASIA, and Eric did a great job!!! You'll hear it, it's fantastic.

"Anyway, listening to the material so far I can really say that even though the new AVANTASIA will be a different conceptual story, the ambition remains the same: To create something epic and big! Or how Eric put it, 'Let's make some kewl music!' No doubt, the spirit of AVANTASIA is there — in every note."

Check out a picture of Singer and Sammet in the recording studio at
this location.

AVANTASIA's last release was the two-part epic called "The Metal Opera" (issued in 2001 and 2002), which featured an impressive array of guest vocalists playing the various characters of the opera, including Michael Kiske (ex-HELLOWEEN), David DeFeis (VIRGIN STEELE), Sharon Den Adel (WITHIN TEMPTATION), Kai Hansen (GAMMA RAY), André Matos (ANGRA, SHAAMAN), Timo Tolkki (STRATOVARIUS), Rob Rock (WARRIOR), and others.

EDGUY filmed a live DVD on November 3 at the Credicard Hall in São Paulo, Brazil. The band has spent most of the past year touring in support of its latest album, "Rocket Ride", which entered the German national album chart at position No. 8 upon its release in late January 2006. The CD also came in at No. 8 in Sweden, No. 25 in Finland, No. 32 in Hungary, No. 48 in Japan, No. 50 in Switzerland, No. 50 in Austria, No. 79 in Norway and No. 81 in Italy.
